This Friday Mission and Music will be interviewing Overtime’s headlining speaker, skateboard evangelist Tim Byrne!!  Join us as we ask him the tough questions as he prepares to hit center stage at this year’s event on 11-11-11.  Known as one of the best flatland freestyle skaters in the world, we’re going to pick Tim’s brain to discover what led him into skating, how God has used his skills as a form of ministry, and how many skateboard-related injuries he has sustained!  Mission and Music is still giving away a ticket to one of the lucky people who’ve ‘liked’ us on Facebook, so if you haven’t done it yet – do it!!!  Tune in and listen up to what promises to be an incredible episode!!

This week we will be speaking about an epidemic that has silently wrecked many young people’s lives – Bulimia.  Mission and Music’s special guest, D’Arcy P., will be sharing from her own experiences from her battle with Bulimia, and the damage it has done in and through her life.  As most eating disorders are private and sometimes difficult to diagnose, many young people suffer in silence, even those within the church.  Mission and Music Radio will be bringing this disease into the light in hopes that awareness and healing may come into the lives of our listeners this Friday.

Dominic Balli, Christian Reggae Artist extraordinaire, will be on Mission and Music this Friday evening at 6 PM EST!  Kelly and I (Scott) got the chance to pick this singer/songwriter’s brain after he performed at Calvary Chapel of South Eastern CT two weeks ago.  Join us as we ask him some probing questions like, “Just how did an Italian/Greek kid fall in love with reggae?” and “How was it working with Sonny from P.O.D.?” and “What kind of maintenance do those dreads require?”  Alright, maybe not the last question, but make sure you tune in to check us out – LIVE, this Friday night!  We’ll have some of the regular crew there as well, with our tried-and-true segments like “What’s Appinin’” and “Musicianary Minute.”  Don’t miss us!

Kelly and I got a chance to iChat with Ryan Griggs from Twelve24 while he was here on furlough from Manchester, England.  Ryan and his group, Twelve24, have a new album out – The Better Words EP.  Ryan was born in the States, but lives in Manchester, England with his wife, Jenny.  Listen in as we ask him about how he ended up in a hip-hop group overseas, what its like living in England, what life is like as a musicianary, and what the British call a car trunk.  Also, we will be playing a few songs off their new album – so be sure to check it out!

Well folks – did you miss us?!?  We certainly missed you!  We (Scott and Kelly) are back with Season 2 of Mission and Music, and we are excited!  Kicking it off this Friday (Sept. 16th), we interviewed the band Unspoken when they came through Calvary Chapel last month.  We’ll play a few tracks off their live album, and we’ll also have a guest appearance by our very own Ryan Griggs from Twelve24, as well as an iShare segment from Gary Campbell, Youth Pastor at GBC!
